Select your email frame
Click anywhere on your email and Sendra takes the frame that holds it. How it chooses, what the breadcrumb shows, and how to pick a different frame.
Sendra turns one Figma frame into an email: the frame that holds everything, from the top of the email to the bottom. You do not have to find that frame yourself.

click anywhere on your email
Any layer inside it will do: a text, an image, a button. Sendra takes the outermost auto layout frame around what you clicked, whether it is a frame, a component or an instance, of any size. A frame you picked before wins.

read the breadcrumb at the top of the panel
It shows the path from your email down to the layer you clicked, the email first. Click a crumb to select that frame on the canvas. A long path shortens in the middle. The pill at the right shows the email’s width.

if Sendra asks for auto layout, press Shift + A
Press it with the named frame selected, or right-click the frame and choose Add auto layout. Sendra takes the email the moment it is added. The frame that holds your email needs auto layout, and when it has none the panel names it, with needs auto layout beside the name.
What Shift + A does to your design: Figma keeps your layers in the same order and evens out the space between them. If your email was already a top-to-bottom stack, it looks the same. If some elements sat side by side, check them afterwards.
Why auto layout
Section titled “Why auto layout”An email is read top to bottom in every inbox. Auto layout tells Sendra that order, so what you see in Figma is what lands in the inbox.
Which frame is the email?
Section titled “Which frame is the email?”Click the first crumb, the email’s name, to open the menu Which frame is the email? It lists the frames around your click, from the outermost down, with the email checked. Pick another and it becomes the email. Sendra remembers the pick in your file, on that frame, so the next time you click inside it you land on the same email.
A frame without auto layout is listed muted, as needs auto layout, with Shift + A beside it. Picking it selects the frame on the canvas so you can add auto layout, and it becomes the email the moment you do.
Several emails in one frame
Section titled “Several emails in one frame”Open the menu and pick your email once. From then on, clicking any email inside that frame selects that email, and clicking the outer frame keeps the one you are on. The first time you click, Sendra takes the outer frame instead when that frame has auto layout of its own; the pick is what tells it which email you mean.
The panel says Select your email
Section titled “The panel says Select your email”Click anywhere on your email. The panel shows Select your email and Click anywhere on your email to get started. with nothing selected, and when you select a Section, a group on its own, or a loose layer outside any email. With several layers selected it shows Select one layer to customize.
Sendra says a frame needs auto layout
Section titled “Sendra says a frame needs auto layout”Press Shift + A with the named frame selected, or right-click it and choose Add auto layout; Sendra takes the email the moment it is added. The panel names the frame it means, with needs auto layout beside the name and Shift + A under it, and the name is a button that selects the frame on the canvas.
