What Sendra treats as the email, what qualifies, and what the panel says when a layer cannot be used.

# Select your email frame

Sendra treats the outermost auto layout frame around your selection as the email. Select that frame, or any layer inside it, and the panel picks the email up.

## The rule

A layer qualifies as the email when all of these hold:

- It is a frame, a component or an instance.
- Auto layout is turned on for it.
- It is at least 80 pixels wide and 40 pixels tall.

Sendra walks up from your selection and takes the outermost layer that qualifies. Selecting a text layer, an image or a button inside the email selects the email around it.

## What the panel shows

Once the email is found, the panel shows the frame's name and size, and its three tabs: Properties, Preview and Customize. Selecting a different layer inside the same email keeps the same email and opens that layer in Customize.

## When a layer cannot be used

If nothing around your selection qualifies, the panel says so and tells you what to select instead:

- **It isn't an auto layout frame.** Select the auto layout frame that holds your whole email, or turn auto layout on for the selected frame.
- **It isn't a frame.** Select the auto layout frame that holds your whole email.
- **It's smaller than an email can be.** Select the frame that holds the whole email rather than a small element inside it.

## Nothing selected, or several things

Sendra works on one selection at a time. When nothing is selected, the panel asks you to select a layer to get started. Select one layer, or the email frame itself.
