Get started with Sendra
Install Sendra, select your email frame, preview it, set the basics, and make your first export.
Sendra turns an auto layout frame in Figma into email HTML, and this page takes you from installing it to your first export. You design in Figma as you always have, and Sendra produces HTML that email clients can show.
Install Sendra
Section titled “Install Sendra”Sendra runs inside Figma.
- In Figma, open the Resources panel and search for Sendra under Plugins, or install it from Sendra on Figma Community.
- Open the design that holds your email.
- Run Sendra from the Plugins menu. The panel opens beside your canvas.
Select your email frame
Section titled “Select your email frame”Select the auto layout frame that holds the whole email, or any layer inside it. The panel shows the frame’s name and size, with three tabs: Properties, Preview and Customize. Select your email frame has the exact rule and what the panel says when a layer cannot be used.
Preview your email
Section titled “Preview your email”The Preview tab shows a picture of your email. Choose View full preview to see it as it will arrive, at desktop and phone widths, in light and dark. Preview your email covers the preview window.
Set the basics
Section titled “Set the basics”The Properties tab holds the settings that belong to the whole email.
- Canvas background is the colour around the email, outside its frame.
- Preview text is the line inboxes show after the subject line.
- Language tells screen readers and email clients which language the email is written in. English is the default.
Sendra remembers these settings for each email frame in your file.
Adjust a layer
Section titled “Adjust a layer”Select a layer inside the email to open it in the Customize tab: a link, alt text, where the layer shows, its size and spacing on phones, and its colours in dark mode. See Customize a layer, Mobile layout and Dark mode.
Export
Section titled “Export”Choose Export to open the export window. Export package downloads a zip with the HTML file and an images folder; Copy HTML puts the HTML on your clipboard with your images linked from the web. Export your email explains both, Host your images covers hosting, and Send a test covers test sends.
Plans and your license
Section titled “Plans and your license”The free plan includes ten exports and 100 hosted images, with unlimited previews. Pro and Team include unlimited exports and hosted images; Team covers up to five people. See Plans and limits and Activate your license.
